Klleon Wins Ministry of Intellectual Property Commissioner's Award as a "2026 Outstanding Standard Patent Participating Organization"

Klleon, an AI digital human company and client of E. M. Hwang & Partners, received the Ministry of Intellectual Property Commissioner's Award at the "2026 Outstanding Standard Patent Participating Organization Awards" ceremony held on July 16.

This award recognizes Klleon's achievements in linking its AI-based digital human technology to international standards and developing that technology into patents and actual services.

This award carries particular significance because the long-term standard patent strategy that E. M. Hwang & Partners has pursued together with Klleon since its founding has led to concrete results in the form of international standardization and patent portfolio development.

A long-term strategy connecting technology development with international standards and patents

A standard patent is a patent related to technology that is essential for implementing an international standard, and it requires a strategy that organically connects technology development, patent filing and rights securing, and international standardization activities.

E. M. Hwang & Partners worked together with Klleon on projects such as the Standard Patent Creation Support Program of the Korea Intellectual property STrategy Agency (KISTA), establishing and executing a long-term IP and standards strategy so that Klleon's core AI digital human technology could be connected to international standards and patents.

Specifically, the firm supported portfolio building, review of international standard contributions, analysis of the correspondence between international standards and patents, and domestic and international rights-securing strategy.

Klleon's AI digital human technology reflected in ITU-T international standards

As a result of this collaboration, Klleon's AI digital human related technology has been reflected in the ITU-T international standards "Requirements of communication services for digital humans" (F.748.30) and Framework and requirements for digital human customization (F.748.54), issued by the International Telecommunication Union.

Based on this, Klleon is building a global IP portfolio that links international standards and patents, and by applying international standard technology to its actual digital human services, it has laid the foundation for a progression from technology development to international standardization to securing patent rights to service commercialization.
